Motor RPM is dependent upon the amount of Hertz available in the electrical current. In the USA, 60Hz electrical current is standard and provides enough power to spin the motor up to 3,600RPMs. For countries that use 50Hz electrical current a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) is needed to increase the electrical current to 60Hz so the motor will spin fast enough to produce a comparable amount of G-force (1,474g's @ 60Hz vs. 1,056g's @ 50Hz ). Since G-force has a profound effect on cleaning efficiency it is important to produce as much G-force as possible.
There is an extra cost for the VFD because it represents an additional component to the centrifuge as well as additional wiring and installation. The cost to add the VFD is $175.00 in addition to the cost of the centrifuge.
The shipping cost can vary tremendously depending on which country the centrifuge is being shipped as well as fuel prices at the time of shipment, please inquire by phone (866) 403-1320 or by e-mail for current shipping costs.
